Corinthian Events - Boston Event Planning News

Our sincere and enormous thanks to everyone who came by our office last week to celebrate Corinthian Events’ tenth year in business!

In keeping with our logo make-over to commemorate this special year, we emphasized the turquoise and lime of our colorful new look with a  “glowing” event.  A sophisticated glow bar from Art of the Event anchored the decor, and lit high tops and cubes were scattered throughout the room.  Lime, turquoise and chocolate linens from Style Studio made cocktail highs and communal tables pop in the cool white space.  Potted palms and ficus trees by Tropiculture brought a swanky flair to the white soft seating sectional.  A great excuse to break out the fanciest of our decor inventory – green and silver vases filled with Brattle Square Florists fun arrangements, colored votives and customized M&Ms adorned the tables.  Check out the view from the street!

The delicious Thanksgiving inspired menu by The Catered Affair included Orange Marinated Turkey Breast, Spicy Shrimp and Grits, and Butternut Squash Ravioli with Sage & Balsamic Brown Butter – yum!  Assorted flavored pie lollipops, Pumpkin Whoopie Pies and miniature cupcakes completed the feast.

Visits to the Green Screen operated by Fun Enterprises were required – complete with goofy props and celebratory backgrounds. Look at this great CE team photo-op!

Guests then headed on to the dance floor and boogied the night away to DJ Mike’s fun tunes.  Leave it up to (a very fabulous) Jill to get the party started and, as promised, entertain guests with both a heartfelt “toast” and a friendly “roast” of her fellow partners!

A Presidential Evening

Two weeks ago, guests received the “presidential treatment” on a beautiful fall evening.  After boarding privately hired motor coaches, guests were escorted swiftly through the streets of Boston to the John F. Kennedy Library by six of Boston’s finest motorcycle-riding police officers.

Upon arrival at the Library, guests were greeted by an authentic bagpiper, evocative of Kennedy’s Irish heritage.

Guests first had a private viewing of the Library’s iconic film which details the life of JFK leading up to his campaign for president.  They then toured the exhibits and discovered who the great leader was during his presidency.  Upon leaving the exhibits, guests entered the Pavilion filled with sounds from a string trio and were greeted with drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres.

The dinner itself was a replica of a French menu that would have been served in the White House during the Kennedy administration.  Delicious appetizers including deviled eggs and chicken vol au vent were passed along with traditional French wines.  The gold ballroom chairs, Federal Blue Chateau Linens, gold flatware, crystal stemware and silver bowls filled with cream roses completed the Presidential theme.

Guests feasted on a three course dinner that ended with a real presidential treat, a lively acapella performance by the Harvard Krokodiloes!

The Luck of the Irish

Let’s face it, in this city there’s a little Irish in everyone!  Last week, we designed and managed a great Irish-themed farewell dinner for one of our corporate incentive programs.   For an intimate group of 30, the second floor of Solas Irish Pub located in the Lenox Hotel, was the ideal venue for their final dinner.

Guests were welcomed into a room aglow with candle light.  Tea lights, luminaries and white and green florals complimented the already existing Irish accents in the space, creating a warm and cozy environment for the diners.

After enjoying cocktails, an array of passed hors d’oeuvres and an overflowing raw bar of maritime delicacies, guests took their seats at three banquet tables set for ten.  A magician was on hand for the first hour of the evening, floating amongst the crowd, impressing and baffling guests with his slight of hand tricks.

Once seated, guests were able to select from a traditional Irish menu – Shepherd’s Pie, London Broil and Fish & Chips were the entree options for the evening.

Later in the night, the raw bar transitioned into a dessert station where guests could enjoy warm banana bread pudding and flourless chocolate cake with a whiskey sauce, mingle and dance the night away to the sounds of an Irish acoustic duo.
