Chihuly Inspired: A Reception at the MFA

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

The whole city is talking about it; and if you haven’t been to see it yet the Chihuly Exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston should be high on your list of things to do (don’t worry, you have until August 7th).  As you enter, you will notice that Dale Chihuly’s glass blown flowers may be stagnant but they are very much interactive!  Throughout the entire exhibition, each eye-catching piece is conversing deliberately and playfully with the others, creating a fantastical and completely captivating composition.

With the colored glass being perhaps the most apparent aspect of the exhibition, what better way to design a dinner reception in the new Shapiro Family Courtyard, than to play on those colors?  So we did just that.  Using orange, turquoise and purple, the vibrancy of Chihuly’s work was echoed throughout the courtyard with rich linens and whimsical florals scattered on the cocktail lows and high top tables.

There’s still a month left for us to plan your very own Chihuly event!

Teambuilding at Taranta

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

Last week, guests had the exclusive opportunity to prepare their very own three-course meal from scratch at one of the North End’s most popular restaurants. Equipped with a cutting board, knife, and a glass of wine, guests (ahem, chefs) infiltrated the private dining room at Taranta – an interactive full-service kitchen for the night!

The group was divided into 3 teams and while donning on their chef hats and aprons, they listened as each chef shared instructions and insight for the evening’s menu.  Then they were put to work!  Individual team members took turns and worked together to prepare the evening’s meal.

Once the guests completed the various courses they were able to truly enjoy their hard work.  Seated together at their very own private table, guests were served dinner – the perfect reward! They sampled each of the dishes they created while sipping wines from Taranta’s expansive collection.  Immerse your guests in the Italian culture that thrives in Boston’s North End with the ultimate teambuilding activity – it’s fun AND delicious!

Buon appetito!

High Rolling: Your Very Own Vegas Experience

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

There’s nothing like a night in Las Vegas but ditch the plane tickets because everyone wins when we bring the “gambling” fun and neon lights of the strip straight to Boston!  There is an unmistakable energy at a casino night – whether a fundraiser or corporate affair, the enthusiasm you will experience as you step into the room is contagious and will keep your friends and colleagues betting all night long.  Armed with an envelope containing customized “funny money” and basic instructions for cashing in – watch your guests race to the tables to reel in the big bucks!  Remember, that fake cash can earn your “high rollers” cold hard prizes or even help raise money for your favorite cause!

Place a bet and hope that the money wheel thinks alike!

With 36 numbers to choose from  – it’s a chance to win big!  (Or loose big… but don’t worry, it’s only “funny money!”)

See if “Lady Luck” is on your side while you bet against a professional dealer and your fellow guests at the Blackjack tables!

Ching, ching for the win!  There’s nothing quite like the sound of singing slot machines to instantly transport you to Vegas.

Whew that was fun – next stop, Monte Carlo!

May is for Meetings!

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

May has been all about meetings at Corinthian Events!  After months of planning and designing, we executed several very successful events including a three-day conference for a medical software company as well as a client appreciation meeting for a network services provider.

Throughout the three-day conference for our medical software client, Corinthian Events was responsible for full meeting management.  We handled registration, room block management, hotel logistics, stage set design, branding, lighting, audio visual and on-site production.  We also coordinated an off-site reception for the 200 attendees aboard the luxurious Majesty, a great vessel selection for groups visiting Boston and looking to get their “Love Boat” on!

Alternately, our client in the network service industry called us to manage the logistics for their internal meeting and client appreciation event.  We used the company’s signature colors, some potted palms and custom signage to transform their large raw space into an intimate venue. After the meeting, attendees enjoyed a cocktail reception and a panel-focused speaking program.

Don’t you just love a good meeting?!
