ADMEI 2013 Achievement Award Finalists!

Thursday, December 20th, 2012

We have great news to share!  This week the Association of Destination Management Executives (colloquially referred to as ADMEI) announced their 2013 Achievement Award Finalists and we are so thrilled to be nominated twice!  We’d like to congratulate all of the finalists and are so excited to be included ourselves!  This year there was a 50% increase in entries, making the decision very difficult for the judges.  Winners will be announced at the ADMEI Conference in Montreal this coming February – Jill, Laura and Tamara will be holding their breath at the Final Awards Dinner!

Our nominated events are Peyback Foundation: Peyton’s Pals Visit Boston in the “Best Creative Events – Best Tour Program” category and The Institute of Contemporary Art’s 75th Anniversary Gala in the “Best Innovative Events – Best Innovative Events $200,000 and above” category.   Good luck to all of the nominees!

The CE Elves Spread Holiday Cheer!

Tuesday, December 11th, 2012

We’re giving back!  To celebrate the spirit of giving during the holiday season, this year Corinthian Events volunteered to participate in the Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Children’s Actions Corps’ gift giving program, Winter Wish.

Dedicated to Robert F. Kennedy’s commitment to the poor and disadvantaged, the Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Children’s Actions Corps provides a diverse range of programs and services across Massachusetts to help children and adolescents manage past hurts, develop self-esteem and become contributing members of society.  Winter Wish is RFK’s annual gift program which strives to provide all 800 children in their care with at least one gift during the holidays.

With the hope of contributing to this impressive goal, each member of the Corinthian Events team sponsored a child.  And thus we took the role of elves!  We took a couple hours one morning and went on a shopping field trip to share our holiday cheer.  Everyone fulfilled their child’s wish list from paint sets and art canvas for children exploring their artistic side, to yoga mats and Nalgene water bottles for adolescents who participate in RFK’s therapeutic yoga program.  And if we do say so, we’re pretty awesome at being elves!

12 gifts are en route to the RFK Children’s Actions Corps headquarters in Boston this afternoon.  We are very happy we could be a part of Winter Wish, support the incredible work of RFK and its staff, and most importantly, help brighten the holidays for children in their care across the state.

And while we were gift shopping, we got a little carried away…

….and came home to the office with a Corinthian Events tree!

Governor’s Academy 250th Celebration!

Friday, December 7th, 2012

In September, Courtney’s alma mater, Governor’s Academy celebrated their 250th Anniversary with an awesome event.  Decking out the campus’ Field House, guests enjoyed a cocktail reception complete with a GIANT central bar.  After cocktails, the drapery wall was drawn aside, inviting guests to sit for a three course dinner.

Finally, what kind of milestone celebration would it be without a custom fireworks display choreographed to music?!

Perhaps the coolest take-away from this program is a time lapse video recording the event production from start to finish.  The three days are documented here in just 8 minutes. If you don’t have 8 minutes to spare, fast forward to somewhere around 5:15 minutes for a dizzying display of catering efficiency! Pretty impressive, don’t you think?
