Last month Corinthian Events painted the town red! Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s Charitable Foundation held their 14th Annual Gala, which raised money to help build a new Cardiovascular Center at the hospital. Inspired by the brushstroke heart logo created for the event, we designed the Westin Hotel’s Copley Place Essex and America Ballrooms, echoing the same look and feel!
To start the evening, guests walked the red carpet passing through the proverbial “town” into the Essex Ballroom for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The statement arch entryway featured a replica of the Boston city skyline while a central lit red bar and glowing ice sculpture anchored the ballroom. Guests were active bidders – with so many auction items to choose from, including a red Mini Cooper!
When it was time for dinner, guests were invited upstairs to the America Ballroom. At the top of the escalators they found a dramatic entryway. Vibrant red spandex arches and carnations echoed the heart shape and truly wow’ed attendees.
Once in the ballroom guests dined and then danced under a impressive ceiling of red swagged fabric complete with a giant disco ball that added some serious sparkle. Behind the band, a massive heart and glowing red columns pulsed to their beat all night long.
A huge success, over $700,000 was raised to help build the Elfers Cardiovascular Center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. If that’s not worth a bright red celebration, we don’t know what is!
