Summer is fast approaching, and what better way to celebrate the season than by heading to Fort Point for some unique brews and outstanding bivalves! Earlier this year the team behind Island Creek Oyster Bar and Eastern Standard opened Row 34, a “working man’s oyster bar”. Although you won’t necessarily find the bar full with blue collar types, the restaurant does offer a great atmosphere and even better seafood. Similar to ICOB, the decor features small elements that pay homage to the Island Creek Oyster farm in Duxbury. The combination of steel, vintage subway tiles, exposed brick and reclaimed wood creates the perfect industrial-chic ambiance!
While the furnishings are striking, the real star here is the menu. Row 34’s namesake bivalve, an exclusive variety created by Island Creek, and the other East Coast oysters make for an excellent starting point. The restaurant’s version of an oyster slider is perfectly fresh and light, with a lettuce cup replacing the usual brioche roll and pickled vegetables adding just the right amount of tang. From clam shack classics to refined entrees, Row 34 has something for everyone. Wash it all down with one of their extraordinary craft beers, and you’re sure to have a meal to remember!
