Revere Hotel Space 57

Each year members of the design, fashion and beauty world await Pantone’s Color the Year announcement with bated breath.  The proposed color inevitably influences product development and purchasing decisions across multiple industries and consequently requires careful consideration.  As you can imagine, the color of the year often gets event designers talking as well.   When we learned 2014’s Color of the Year was Radiant Orchid, we realized we’d been incorporating the bright hue into many events – so on trend, we know!   Here are some of our favorites that have featured the lovely shade – which Pantone describes as a captivating harmony of fuschia, purple and pink.

This past fall, we used radiant orchid tones to transform Space 57 at the Revere Hotel for a celebratory cocktail reception.  Purple soft seating, washes of fuchsia light and beautiful radiant orchid floral arrangements turned the blank space into an inviting affair with a lustrous glow!

In January, PCMA held their Convening Leaders meeting in Boston at the Hynes Convention Center and we were excited to partner with Toronto Tourism’s to plan their Imaginarium.  The innovative and stimulating booth has been a staple at PCMA since 2007 and is often one of the most anticipated booths of the convention!  Bounded by white draping with a soft purple glow, the Imaginarum felt ethereal and modern.  Visitors were encouraged to let their imaginations run wild while decorating ceramic bowls or making lego jewlery.  As a unique touch, we created two private meeting spaces with walls made of spandex circles that guests were welcome to utilize throughout the conference.

You may recall this beautiful image from a past blog post (One For The Books) about a fun-filled evening at the Boston Public Library that occurred last June.  Much of the decor featured radiant orchid touches, including the grand staircase which featured a temporary barricade made of scattered purple orchids.

Last but certainly not least – the metamorphosis of the Benjamin Franklin Institute this past holiday season!  Rich purple hues turned the space from a classroom by day to a festive holiday party at night.  Be sure to  check out the previous blog post to see the impressive transformation, complete with a time lapse video (A Transformation You Have to See to Believe)!
