Snow in the Fairmont Copley Ballroom!

With “Winter Wonderland” 2011’s holiday decor inspiration of choice, this season, we added the ballroom at the Fairmont Copley Place to our list of frosty yet elegant transformations.  Passing through a white carpeted forest of birch, guests found themselves in a ballroom brought to life.  Tables glittered and glistened with soft candlelight and reflective crystal strings; soft seating areas were plush with platinum furniture and enhanced with soft lighting.  Then, before guests eyes, it began to snow right inside the ballroom!  The stagnant decor (in the form of stilted human birch trees) came to life as snowflakes fell from the ceiling.  A birch tree gave a wink as the silver “tree” central on the iconic mirror bar magnificently ruffled her leaves…

Reminiscent of a classic winter wonderland, this modern and elegant interpretation of this theme allowed for an interactive evening of dancing, lounging, eating, and celebrating.  A photo station set behind a sheered-off section of the Fairmont Copley ballroom called “Frozen Memories” allowed guests to have their photo taken and then inserted into a snow globe for a festive holiday take-away.  Cake pops decorated with flavorful snowflakes were abundant as guests brought red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla bites homes with them!

A Corinthian Christmas

At Corinthian Events, we like to celebrate the holidays with a bubbly toast, a centrally positioned table filled with edible treats (thanks to our awesome vendors and clients), and with a much anticipated Yankee Swap.   This year, we ventured to Market for a delicious 3-course lunch, a few toasts (and a roast), and of course the sharing of gifts.  With an iPad cover, a pedicure set, decadent truffle oil and a Labrador calender – it might have been the most competitive yet!

Winter Wonderland at the Museum of Fine Arts

It’s the Holiday Season!

This past Monday we transformed the Gallery and Ballroom at the Mandarin Oriental Boston for a corporate holiday party.  The décor was designed to be lush, cozy and inviting with a deep plum and chocolate brown palate accented with pops of silver.  To shake things up, we imported some stunning furniture from NYC and installed a custom dance floor complete with swirly snowflake inlay – so fun!

Sweet Holiday Treats: A Candy Bar

Candy canes, gumballs, Swedish Fish and Jelly Bellys: all the fixin’s of a quickly devoured candy bar for one of our corporate holiday parties this past December.  Aren’t the miniature swirl lollipops the sweetest?

The Roaring Twenties

Spice up your holiday party with a theme like this 1920’s event we produced and executed at the Henderson House in Weston, MA.  An elegant and unique venue, the two-story house sits upon a hill and is filled with traditionally decorated rooms.  While cozy enough to be a home, it has the perfect capacity for cocktails and mingling, placing bets at casino tables, psychic readings and learning how to jive.

Greeted by a butler as they entered the house, guests adorned themselves in boas, fedoras, and feathered sparkle headbands and gathered for cocktails in the foyer as a pianist filled the house with upbeat tunes.   “Cigars! Cigarettes!” shrieked the flapper with a hawker tray as she passed around her chocolate treats.

The evening then transitioned upstairs for an elaborate array of food stations, mixed with seating in four uniquely styled dining areas including a guitarist.  Gold, black, cream and burgundy set the mood and unified the decor throughout each room.  A professional dance duo awed guests with a demonstration followed by interactive lessons.

Stepping back in time is such a fun way to celebrate the holidays in creative style!
