Boston’s Adult Playground

Massachusetts Convention Center Authority

Adults (and kids) of Boston officially have a new playground!  Lawn on D, which opened last August, provides a “next-generation park” to Bostonians and visitors.  This three-acre lot adjacent to the BCEC hosts weekly live music performances, art installations and lawn games in an effort to bolster civic engagement and foster creativity in South Boston.  Boy, have they been successful!  The outdoor space can fit 3,000 guests for events from Spring through Fall and has definitely been a popular destination.

With only 21 days left of Summer, Lawn on D is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the last few weeks of warm weather.  The space hosts a rotating list of Boston’s best food trucks on a weekly basis, offers Friday “lunch breaks” featuring Berklee College musicians and recently launched “Sport’s Sundays”, where visitors can cheer on the Red Sox under The Tent!  The venue also presents a wide array of signature events designed to entertain and delight.  This fall, locals can attend a music festival, kids day or pumpkin fest – all for free!

The Lawn on D is open from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm daily through early October.  For more information or to plan your visit, head to http://lawnond.com/!

Corinthian Events Celebrates 15 Years!

CE Turns 15 Partners

Founded in March of 2000, Corinthian Events has been planning memorable events in Boston and New England for 15 years.  Of course, in true CE fashion, we had to celebrate!

Last weekend friends, family and the CE team headed down to the Hotel Viking in Newport, RI for an epic bash hosted by Courtney, Jill and Mary.  Decked out in our finest duds, we danced, toasted and reminisced!

Following dinner, we ushered the whole party into another room for a champagne toast and a surprise! Courtney, Jill and Mary had no idea that the CE team had been working with friends, family, vendors and clients to put together a 15th anniversary video.  There were plenty of laughs (and tears!) as people from CE’s past and present expressed their congratulations.

After a touching tribute, it was back to the ballroom for more dancing and fun in the photo booth.  With such a fun team, it’s a wonder we get any work done!

Our Day on Instagram – The CE Summer Outing

Thursday, September 11th, 2014

We spend all summer planning your summer outings, so it seems only fair that we get one day to forget about work and celebrate the season!  Last month, Corinthian Events took to the streets and explored some of our favorite parts of Boston before enjoying a delicious dinner at Sweet Cheeks.  From donuts and champagne on the way to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum to a segway tour of Boston’s waterfront (with only one minor accident!), we basked in the 90 degree weather and learned bits of trivia (courtesy of our in house historian, Jill) about our beloved city.  Of course, we took to Instagram to document our fantastic day and share our fun.  Here’s our day on Instagram!

Two New Faces at 109 Kingston Street!

Thursday, May 9th, 2013

We are very excited to introduce you to the two newest members of the Corinthian Events Team – Jamie and Megan!  With 13 staff we are currently the largest CE has ever been!

Employee

Jamie Hellesen joined Corinthian Events in April 2013 with more than ten years’ experience in the event planning industry.  Her background encompasses wedding planning, restaurant management, and destination management, and she spent over six years as an account manager at a large Florida-based DMC.  Jamie is a New Englander at heart – she grew up in Southern New Hampshire – and is excited to be continuing her work in destination management here in Boston.  Clients will notice her impeccable organization and detail, and she makes multi-tasking under pressure look like a breeze.  When she’s taking a break from the logistics of your event, Jamie enjoys CrossFit, spending time with her new nephew, and capturing the world through a lens.

Boston Event Planners

Massachusetts native Megan Woonton joined Corinthian Events in April 2013 with a passion for events and experience spanning private, social, and non-profit event planning.  She graduated from Endicott College in 2011 with a B.S. in Hospitality Management, and spent a year studying in Madrid, Spain and Sydney, Australia.  Megan’s vivacious personality and keen attention to detail make her a pleasure to work with, and stress can’t get this girl down; she thrives on adrenaline and has been found skydiving over the Great Barrier Reef and bungee jumping in the rain forest!  Megan loves being part of the entire planning process, from meeting the clients right down to closing the door after another successful event.  When she isn’t designing stunning events, Megan also loves traveling, trying new restaurants, and hiking with her two Golden Retrievers.
