Boston Skyline

December is a busy time of year here at CE – between planning parties, designing our now-famous holiday card, and dealing with our own personal schedules, we hardly have time to breath before the whole month has flown by!  One event that always makes it on the books (snow or shine!) is the annual holiday luncheon.  As an office, we spend the afternoon eating, imbibing and enjoying one another’s company.  Tradition also dictates that we each make a toast to the fabulous year we’ve had, and the new year to come.  This year there were many creative sentiments, but one was particularly poignant to us as event planners.  We hope you enjoy Kevin’s poem as much as we did!

Architects

We are architects.

Not of buildings or bridges, or tunnels or truss,
Not of ships or planes, nor cars or a bus.

We are the architects of company and corporate events,
And we build not the venue, unless they’re in tents.

No, what we design can’t be seen, heard, or handled,
And I don’t mean the vases, the high tops, or candles.

We deal in the social, the friendship, and trust,
A business’s goal; an industry must.

We are architects.

A trade show will bring the bright and the best
If the party’s a hit; the WORLD is our guest.

Planning a team-build on harborside boats,
Might keep the “hull” of a company afloat.

(HA! See what I did there. It’s a metaphor. Or a pun?
A Play-on words? I can’t remember which one.)

What I’m trying to say without sounding coy,
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

A corporate retreat keeps the business mind sharp,
All you need are some candles, a tent, and a tarp

So if ever your faith in events you find fleeting,
The iPod and Mini were results of such meetings.

We are architects.

With floor plans and reg-sites and clipboards for blueprints,
We leave colors for clients and invisible shoeprints.

The best in the business, a BizBash new branding,
Our ideas will inspire, and our staff is outstanding.

Merry Christmas we go separate holiday ways,
I hope I’ve done well in my first 90 days.

Meet Our Newest Additions!

Boston Event Planning

We have good news to share – this month we’ve added two new members to our team!  Please give a warm welcome to Jennifer and Kevin!

Jennifer Logan

Jennifer Logan joined Corinthian Events in September 2013 with 12 years of industry experience ranging from event planning and business management to hotels and catering. She has a deep love for all things gastronomy; Jennifer went to culinary school, loves menu design and planning, and is even working on earning a Master’s in Gastronomy from Boston University. While she was raised as a Bengals fan, she’s learned to like the Pats ever since moving from the Midwest to Boston for her undergrad – she earned a Bachelor’s in Business from Northeastern in 2002, focusing on Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management. She has been event planning since college, and her knowledge and creativity will make her an invaluable asset to all of our clients here at CE. Outside of work, you might bump into Jennifer on one of her long walks around the city, enjoying oysters and Belgian beers, or skiing and snowshoeing in Killington, VT.

Kevin Kuchera

After graduating from Northeastern University in 2012 with a degree in Music Industry and Venue Management, Kevin Kuchera joined Corinthian Events in September of 2013 as a Production and Technology Assistant. With a professional background including royalties accounting at Capital Records, front of house management at the Mayo Performing Arts Center, and a variety of positions in Boston bars and restaurants, Kevin looks to continue his work in planning and executing live events. Here at CE, Kevin will be managing inventory, overseeing the loading and unloading of event cargo, and assisting in graphic design and technology solutions.
