We started the morning with a celebratory toast to the tenth anniversary of Corinthian Events! Here’s a look at a few of the fun times along the way.
And here’s to many more!
Last week, Jill was able to represent Corinthian Events at the Annual Association of Destination Management Executives Conference in Atlanta, GA. With a focus on Driving Forward to Profitability, there were lots of ideas shared regarding how to position the organization for success in 2010.
Jill attended a series of lectures including, Now What Do I Do? where Steve Levin of Berkley Insurance discussed different things to do to avoid being sued as well as what to do when something does happen. Fresh marketing ideas were also at the forefront of the discussions. She also picked up some new team building strategies that we are excited to explore in future programs.
The Conference ended with a night at the impressive Georgia Aquarium.
Put your best foot forward without “breaking the bank.” Yes! It is possible to create a beautiful meeting space without going beyond your budget. Last night we created a unique look for a basic hotel ball room simply by adding custom linens, florals and ambient lighting. We were able to cut costs but remain chic by making use of what was available to us like using the complimentary hotel linens with a tinge of gold on all of the food stations.
This effective transformation incorporated the existing ballroom decor with an added flare for the perfect business backdrop. By choosing browns and golds with a hint of blue for the unifying color scheme this allowed us to work with the space, not fight against the existing carpet and in house linens which complemented the decor.
To spice up your next business meeting, call up this Boston Event Planner to keep your budget in the forefront while unifying the decor and space.
Lucky for lots of us, there are emerging signs of a dwindling recession. After over a year of cuts throughout the industry, corporate clients are realizing that travel, incentives and events are absolutely vital to a successful operation. Meetings Review’s article “Performance Level: Are Overseas Incentives Bouncing Back?” shares the promising results of a study based in the United Kingdom, highlighting that international incentive programs are essential in a challenging economy. Encouraging top performers through creative incentives has proved to be the most effective reward mechanism for leading corporations like Goodyear Dunlop UK and Shire Pharmaceuticals.
In conjunction with this increase in travel, there are more reasons than ever to visit the historical city of Boston! In a time where perception is everything, Boston is a destination filled with prestigious educational institutions, a hub of the medical industry and the economic center of New England, meaning your guests will be immersed in sophisticated and intellectual culture, and not perceived as dilly-dallying on the golf course.
The city’s Media & Tourism group has teamed with a slew of popular airlines to feature all that this vibrant and unique city has to offer – winter activities, summer fun, culinary surprises, a sports destination and cultural treats. Included in the promotions are airlines AirTran, American, Southwest, JetBlue, Porter and Virgin America (which you can take from LA to Boston for $109!).
Pair that deal with all of the history, culture and activities in store upon arrival and it sounds like you’re going to need a capable meeting planner to help with your Boston incentive needs!
