Family Reach

Tuesday, December 27th, 2016

Family Reach is a financial lifeline for families fighting cancer.

Throughout the holiday season, we host festive parties, enjoy our friends, family and loved ones and give back to our communities through donations and service.

Looking back on an incredible year, we take pride in the opportunities we have been given to work with non-profits such as Family Reach; making a difference in the live’s of people everyday.

To facilitate a recent Family Reach meeting, our team transformed a photography studio in Allston into the perfect meeting space to elevate the two-part meeting which included panel discussion and breakout sessions.

The panel discussion took place on a stage flanked by two television monitors. Their Family Reach logo was projected behind the speakers. Decor was kept simple – white walls, linens and lighting, complemented by a black stage and stage edging.

Breakout spaces utilized black and white decor as well. Silver gunmetal stools and silver easels with sleek white furniture and black linens ensured the decor was a backdrop while emulating a professional atmosphere.

Large retractable signs with quotes and the faces of some of the children supported by Family Reach reminded attendees of the importance of their purpose. This imagery of the children remained the design focal point – as do the children and families remain the focus of Family Reach.

Our team at Corinthian Events handled logistics and decor for the meeting, ensuring the Family Reach team could focus on creating content and bringing together influential people to give guidance and make connections in order for their mission to reach new heights!

Global DMC Connection

Thursday, July 14th, 2016

Corinthian Events is a proud member of Global DMC Partners, an elite group of the largest global network of hand-picked Destination Management Companies (DMCs). This gives our clients access to event professionals with solid local connections and creative know-how to ensure their programs, not only in Boston and New England but beyond, are exceptional, unique and perfect, anyplace, anywhere.

Every year Global DMC Partners, holds its annual “Connection.” Two hundred participants attended the 2016 Global DMC Partners Connection at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from June 23-26.  The two-and-a-half-day annual event included innovative business sessions, one-on-one appointments, industry specific breakout sessions, an interactive customer panel, site visits, and attendee-elected tours around Punta Cana.  Top meeting professionals and DMC industry leaders from around the world had the opportunity to learn about key industry trends, including emergency preparedness and the direction of the global economy, discuss best practices, meet one-on-one with other DMCs, and network with their peers.

Jill Tate and Mary Douglas, two of the partners at Corinthian Events, attended this year’s conference, making great connections and meeting some wonderful people. Jill, always the ‘hostess with the mostess,’ and chairperson of the Connection Committee with DMC, kicked off opening session by welcoming everyone to the conference.

A Customer and DMC Panel on Emergency Preparedness, one of the industry’s timeliest topics, was hosted by Global DMC Partners President, Catherine Chaulet. The Panel, consisting of DMC and Customer Advisory Board members as well as a few key customers, took a deep dive into what planners, DMCs and hotels are finding to be the most pressing concerns when it comes to emergency preparedness. They also reviewed how to create effective risk management and crisis management plans for both large and small scale emergencies, a hands-on assessment of real life situations from cyber security to climatic threats, and additional security options to be considered around the world.

In between educational sessions they had customer speed dating where clients came to each table to learn about the various locations represented. Corinthian repped Boston (of course!) – not as high tech as Match.com but really fun!

One of their favorite nights was “dress like your city”… here is Jill and Mary decked out as Historic Boston that’s on the cutting edge. “We even put buckles on our flip flops!”

Visiting Punta Cana, their learning didn’t stop inside the conference, they got out to see some of the surrounding areas. Jill learned about Dominican Cigars, while Mary visited the Rum factory! Very educational…

Mary and Jill both spent time exploring the Dominican Republic in their own way. Before the conference, Mary took 4 days to ‘hang ten’ at surf camp. Impressive form Mary! After the conference, Jill stayed to connect with her family, enjoying the gorgeous weather and relaxation.

What an experience this year’s GDP Connection offered. Next year… ITALY & VEGAS!

Razor Sharp Branding

Thursday, June 23rd, 2016

Transforming a Gillette Venus conference room into a branded showroom takes smooth delivery and razor sharp execution. Puns aside – we had a ball working with Marina Maher Communications (MMC) to design their Gillette Venus Brunch & Learn! Based on their objective and design concept, our team brainstormed ideas for décor and shareable photo opportunities.

Arriving at Gillette Headquarters, our guests deserved a warm welcome. We created a large welcome banner, repurposed Gillette’s soft seating into a lounge and brought in branded cappuccinos and lattes – check out the Gillette Venus logo on the foam!

As the guests walked to the conference room they received celebrity treatment, walking the Gillette Venus blue carpet up to a floor to ceiling CHOOSE TO SMOOTH banner. Additional drama was created by to make everything in the room pop. Notice white up-lighting on signage and Gillette Venus blue on the walls.

The transformation of the conference room was spectacular. The table was covered with a custom Venus blue linens and set with silver chargers, orange bottom glasses, silver ball napkin rings, tall mercury glass candle holders, small votive holders with silver ball details and gorgeous flowers to mimic the pink, yellow and orange brand inspiration. Water and #CHOOSETOSMOOTH decals were attached to the conference room glass. Silver chairs with pink cushions were chosen as well. Branded gifts, including a custom moleskin book, were placed on the table along with small flower displays in test tubes – reminding our guests of their next stop – the labs!

While the guests were treated to Brunch, our team transitioned the welcome lobby from cappuccino lounge to photo-op. A simple lounge just would not do!

This blow-up pool filled with over 50 silver blow up balls and fun props, sitting on top of a 12’ x 12’ water decal. Our photographer took shots from above, printed the pictures on the spot and also shared them via social media for interested parties. How cool is that?

Guests had a blast – being treated to a one of a kind day – and experiencing Venus Gillette from a whole other angle!

Total Meeting Management: Every Interaction is Key

Thursday, April 28th, 2016

Meeting adjourned, the conference is over and guests are heading home. What do they remember from the event?

We recently had the pleasure of working with The New Balance Foundation Obesity Prevention Center Boston Children’s Hospital to help plan, manage and execute their conference; Turning Science into Care, which was held at the Charles Hotel in Harvard Square along with the New Balance Foundation Obesity Prevention Center at Boston Children’s Hospital.

As meeting management professionals in Boston, we understand the logistics involved in coordinating a conference to go off without a hitch. We created a 10-month work back schedule detailing all items and pertinent dates to ensure no detail was slighted!

Managing details are key to a successful event. Your guests first interaction with your brand may be your invitation and ticketing website. A custom branded registration site (white label site) that is intelligently built guides your guests through the sign-up process, stays in communication with them leading up to the event with updates, and organizes relevant data regarding their needs so you can be prepared!

Check out some examples of the registration pages we build custom for this conference. Looking for help planning your next meeting or conference? Call Corinthian Events today!
